  • In 2025, a total of 102 measles cases have been reported across all five regional health authorities.
  • Most cases involve individuals who were not fully vaccinated.

What You Need to Know

  • The provincial health authority urges everyone to check their immunization records and make sure they have received two doses of the measles vaccine, which are available for free.
  • Measles is highly contagious and can lead to severe complications including pneumonia, encephalitis, or even death.
  • If you're unsure of your status, you can:
    • Check via Health Gateway,
    • Contact your health-care provider, or
    • Call HealthLink BC at 811
  • People with recent exposure or travel-related symptoms are asked to monitor their health and isolate if unwell; call ahead before visiting a health center .
  • Before traveling, ensure immunizations are up to date—two vaccine doses are required for full protection in both children (12 months and older) and adults born after 1970
