Anyone operating a business within the District of New Hazelton needs a valid business licence. This includes home based businesses, contractors and sub-contractors working in the District, mobile vendors, and businesses based elsewhere that carry out work here.
The application below is a fillable PDF. You can complete it on your computer, then print it and sign it before submitting. Signatures cannot be typed. Your fee is based on the classification of your business, so check the fee schedule below before you submit.

Fees are set by classification under Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 393, 2026. Find your business type below to work out what you owe. If your business does not appear on the list, use the Unclassified rate under professional businesses or contact the District Office.
Businesses starting in the District after June 30 of the current year pay half the listed fee. The full schedule is also available as a PDF.
