You're invited to attend an open house this June to learn about BC Hydro's North Coast Transmission Line Project.
BC Hydro is bringing more clean, reliable electricity to the North Coast to foster economic growth, and enable our customers to use clean electricity to power their operations and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
BC Hydro is proposing to build new 500kV transmission lines and associated infrastructure from Prince George to Terrace through the North Coast Transmission Line Project (NCTL).
NCTL will be developed in two phases - Phase 1: Prince George to Glenannan Transmission and Phase 2: Glenannan to Terrace Transmission. We’re also proposing to upgrade our existing 500kV transmission lines from Prince George to Terrace and expand our transmission system north of Terrace and in Prince Rupert.
There will be an in person open house on June 17, 2025 in Smithers, BC at the Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge - Alpine Room from 4-7pm. There will also be virtual open house sessions on June 23rd and 24th from 6:30-8pm. Email projects@bchydro.com by June 22nd to indicate which virtual open house you're interested in attending and you will get sent a link.
