We want to hear from you!
We are asking BC-based tourism businesses to complete this 5-10 minute survey. Through this survey, you will have the opportunity to help inform climate adaptation and environmental sustainability program needs and our path forward, together. To thank you for your participation, you will be entered into a draw for an entry pass to a BC tourism conference.
We are asking New Hazelton-based tourism businesses to complete this survey to help encourage large participation so there are enough responses to receive a specific report of the survey findings for our community. This information will help our partner, Destination BC better understand what we can do moving forward to better our community.
Who should complete this survey?
This survey should only be completed by one person per business, by an owner or employee who is familiar with operational practices in climate adaptation and environmental sustainability.

Background: What is Climate Adaptation and Environmental Sustainability?
Climate adaptation is the process of adjusting to the effects of climate change, which could result from natural hazards (e.g. increases in intensity and frequency of extreme weather events) or longer-term / expected climate effects and natural hazards.
UN Tourism defines sustainable tourism as ‘tourism that takes into full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.’
This survey, by purpose, only focuses on the ‘environmental’ aspect of the broader sustainable tourism definition, and on how tourism businesses are incorporating environmental stewardship practices into their operations and planning.
If you have any questions about this survey or concerns with the administration, please contact Erin Hodgins at Erin.Hodgins@DestinationBC.ca.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate.
